SLEEPY HOLLOW (CA) WILDFIRE HAZARD & WILDLAND URBAN INTERFACE (WUI) AREA ASSESSMENT AND REPORT
SHFPD adopted our Wildfire Hazard and Wildland Urban Interface Area Assessment and Report at the March 11, 2017 meeting. The document is now available for download, below.
Highlights include: Comprehensive Risk and Hazard Assessment, Wildfire Preparedness and Planning, Public Education, Evacuation Preparation, Vegetation Management and Reducing Structural Ignitability.
Following adoption of the Assessment, we will conduct a strategic planning process to develop a timeline for implementation of various projects. Several projects outlined in the report are already underway, and will be implemented beginning in the Spring of 2017. For implementation to be successful, community support and participation is essential. We believe this plan will be the roadmap to making us the best prepared Fire District in the County.
Please email the Plan Manager, Rich Shortall at info@shfpd.org with any questions.
