EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES
The Ross Valley Paramedic Authority brings the hospital emergency room to the patient. Firefighter-paramedics deliver advanced life support across the Ross Valley, including Sleepy Hollow, 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
About the RVPA
The RVPA is a firefighter-based paramedic life support program. Fire and paramedic crews arrive within moments of a call for help and work together to treat the patient and stabilize the situation. Because this service is delivered by your local fire agencies, our primary mission is to provide the highest level of quality service and support to the members of our communities.
Funding
The RVPA is primarily funded by local parcel/property taxes and ambulance transport revenue. Thus Sleepy Hollow residents are not charged for ambulance or paramedic services including transport.
The Marin County Board of Supervisors placed a measure on the November 3, 2026 ballot to renew and increase this tax through 2031. If approved by a two-thirds majority of voters, the tax structure will change starting in the 2027–2028 fiscal year:
New Residential Cap: Up to $107.50 per residential unit for the first year, with potential annual increases capped at $4 per year.
