Ethics & Fiscal Training
Effective as of January 1, 2026, Senate Bill 827 expanded California's existing local-official ethics training requirements and established a parallel fiscal and financial training requirement, so that officials responsible for public funds and public decision-making receive regular instruction in the ethics laws and financial practices that govern their duties.
In accordance with it's obligations under this new law, SHFPD board members will complete periodic ethics training and fiscal and financial training, and the District will maintain records of that training, including the date of completion and name of the training provider. These records will be made available to the public, upon request.
