SHFPD DIRECT ASSISTANT PILOT PROJECT - THIS PROJECT IS NOW CLOSED FOR 2022
The Sleepy Hollow Fire Protection District (SHFPD) is committed to reducing the threat of wildfire in our community. In support of this effort, the District has established a new Direct Assistance Pilot Program. The program will provide Sleepy Hollow residents with the opportunity to receive free vegetation removal and disposal services from a local, licensed contractor. Participation will be on a first-come, first-serve basis until funds run out.
The purpose of the program is to directly assist Sleepy Hollow residents with removing hazardous vegetation and creating and maintaining defensible space around their homes. It is important to note that this is a new pilot program that is being managed and rolled out by the District. Residents will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the program at its conclusion. This feedback will be reviewed by SHFPD officials and will help shape future investments in wildfire mitigation programs in our community.
Sleepy Hollow residents interested in participating in this program must submit an application by Friday, August 15th at 5:00 PM PST. Residents whose applications are approved will be contacted directly and all details will be confirmed.
