SHFPD Board meetings are open to the public, consistent with California’s Ralph M. Brown Act. This page provides the meeting calendar, current and upcoming agendas, instructions for participating in person or remotely, and information about how to review meeting materials
Upcoming Meetings & Agendas
Agendas for regular Board meetings are posted at least 72 hours before each meeting. For special Board meetings, Agendas are posted at least 24 hours before the meeting.
Meeting Records & Materials
Documents related to agenda items — staff reports, attachments, and other materials provided to the Board in connection with a meeting — will be posted alongside the agenda on the Meeting Agendas & Schedules page, and otherwise available for public review , by request, consistent with California law. If you need these materials in an alternative accessible format, please Contact Us, and we will promptly provide them.
How to Participate
Members of the public may attend and comment on any agenda item, in person or remotely. For those who choose to participate remotely, you will find a link to the virtual meeting at the top of the meeting Agenda.
If you plan to use a translator, you will receive double the standard comment time; you may Contact Us in advance to arrange for additional time, or simply ask in real time during the public comment period in the meeting.
Closed Sessions
From time to time, the Board may meet in closed session for specific matters permitted by law, such as pending litigation or personnel issues. The subject of any closed session is always announced on the public agenda beforehand, and certain closed-session actions are reported afterward in open session.
